MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging). How Safe It Is?

It is almost over 7 years when I entered that MRI scanning room for my left knee. It was a ligament injury and cant be diagnosed without MRI scan. There was this guy who shouted from behind while entering the exam room. The rudeness in his voice was at highest. "Didn't I mentioned you to remove that metallic support from your leg?". "Yes but I am unable to walk without that support", I replied. “Please remove that and ask your friend your friend to help you get to the room.”, he said.

Everything was done perfectly but that rudeness was still pinching me hard. I tried asking that person, “What’s the matter?”. He never replied.

Then after doing online research, I get to know that how dangerous is carrying any metallic thing in MRI room. This machine operates on very powerful magnetic waves. It can attract any metallic object in the room.

There was this incident in Mumbai where a man died in MRI room in scan in hospital. He was carrying the oxygen cylinder in the room while the machine was operational. Machine attracts the cylinder with the man carrying it. Cylinder hit his head and the man died. He got stuck in the machine. Staff was not able to pull the man until the technical men came from the manufacturer of the machine.

There were so many incidents across the world. Some of them were fatal.

Even the pistol was attracted by the machine when a minister was there for the scan. please make sure that you don't carry any metallic object while you go the MRI room.
